研究実績の概要 |
My 2022 research activities include academic presentations, an article and a conference. I gave an online presentation at the Atlantic Canada Studies Conference (May 28th): “‘Those lines are so easily blurred’: Emotional Labor and the Commodification of Care in Lynne Coady’s Watching You Without Me.” In March, two presentations were given in Japan: eco-sickness in the short fiction of David Huebert (“Writing Climate / Changing Fictions” at Chukyo University, March 25th) and “On Water and Climate Change: Focusing on Canadian Eco-Fiction,”Kyoto. I published a review article on climate fiction (Journal of the School of Global Studies). I helped organize a conference (“Writing Climate / Changing Fictions,” Chukyo University, March 25th, with a guest speaker, John C. Ball (UNB).

3: やや遅れている
理由
Because of COVID 19, I was unable to conduct some research, including travel overseas to attend conferences.
|
今後の研究の推進方策 |
I am currently writing two research articles based on the presentations that I gave in 2022-23.
I plan to organize a conference in March 2024. This conference will include a guest speaker from overseas, and some sessions will include themes related to my research theme. I will probably give a presentation at the conference as well.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the spread of the COVID virus, it was impossible to travel abroad for research and conferences. Therefore, I could not spend all research funds and requested an extension of funding. For 2023, I would like to use up the unspent amount of research funds (305,557 yen). The funds will be spent for 1) travel to collect materials do research at research facilities and libraries in Japan and abroad (especially in Canada), and for participating in domestic and international conferences, workshops, events, etc. related to the relevant research; 2) the purchase of materials and books in Japan and abroad.
