| 研究実績の概要 |
This year we received ethical clearance for a large-scale survey, which was carried out over a two-month period from September to October 2021. The survey was considerably more extensive than in previous attempts. As with the previously conducted pilot studies, we aimed to (i) reduce the burden on participants by reducing the time taken to complete the survey, (ii) further streamline the survey delivery procedure, and (iii) significantly increase the number of participants, targeting 320 hospitals compared to the 80 hospitals targeted in our previous survey. However, again, perhaps due to Covid-19 related factors, the data obtained was insufficient for the purposes of our study.

理由
While we have so far failed in our attempts to obtain sufficient data for the purpose of our needs analysis, the one-year extension to our project has enabled us to remain well within our scheduled goal of carrying out a final survey. However, as mentioned last year, the results of the survey will almost certainly arrive too late to achieve one of our earlier stated goals, that of holding a symposium to create recommendations for a core curriculum of nursing English.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
We plan to submit an application for ethical clearance in June 2022, and carry out a final online survey from August to September 2022. In the light of previously disappointing results, we will limit our survey distribution to hospitals run by the Japanese Red Cross. Should this approach fail, we will consider making one final attempt using a paper-based survey at hospitals where the research team have established contacts. This timeline should enable us to analyze the resultant data within the term of the research grant.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Our only expenses in this financial year are expected to be survey printing and distribution costs. We expect to conduct the survey well within the budget for our final year.
