This project has been developed around literature and the development of cultural skills in learning Spanish.Based on the theory of the development of cultural competencies outlined by Byram (2009), where he explains that before starting a dialogue we must know about the culture and codes of the person who speaks the language in which we want to express ourselves.The appropriate literary materials have been sought to learn about different customs and cultural beliefs to generate a dialogue with their own culture. This project has two objectives. The first is to research a method of teaching and learning a foreign language that promotes an approach that integrates linguistic and multicultural competences (Byram 1990, Kramsch 1993). The second objective is related to the creation of activities based on literary material that facilitate learning and the integration of intercultural competencies in the ELE classroom. This project is framed within the communicative approach to language teaching. This implies that the development of communicative competence should be present in any language activity. The literature pays a special attention to form, and this helps the learner reflect about language, another principle and goal of the communicative method.
