| 研究実績の概要 |
Progress was made in implementing context sensitive algorithms for speech act patterns. The latter had led to artefacts in the modelling of distributional patterns. The detection of filler phrases was enhanced by syntactic parsing and focussing only on high frequency patterns, which are most important for language learners. For computing adjacency patterns between turns of a conversation, there was not enough data in the corpus, at least for some speech act categories. It was therefore necessary to scrape more corpus data from online discussion boards. The corpus on which the analyses are based now comprises 1.3 billion words.

理由
Progress on the project was slowed down due to limited access to university facilities and the IT equipment in the principal investigator's lab. A panel as well as a conference presentation at the "XIV. Kongress der Internationalen Vereinigung fuer Germanistik (IVG)" were cancelled. A visit of Prof. Bubenhofer from Zurich University (Switzerland) scheduled to discuss the application of word embeddings also had to cancelled due to the travel restrictions imposed to limit the spread of COVID-19.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
The final months of the project will be dedicated to running the final anlyses, manual filtering of the outcome and to front-end development for the online presentation of the findings.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Funding for research stay of Prof. Bubenhofer from Zurich University had to be postponed due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. The visit is now scheduled for end of the year 2020.
