We achieved fast detection of ammonia through the gate voltage modulation of the carrier density of graphene and polarization of the ammonia molecule. Consequently, the change in charge neutrality point and charge-transfer characteristics of the ammonia-graphene system was studied. Furthermore, the results indicate that the fast detection time and shift in the charge neutrality point may be attributed directly to the charge transfer between graphene and ammonia facilitated by gate voltage modulation. For the acetone concentration of 1.48% in nitrogen base gas, charge neutrality point voltage shifted negative and positive voltages for the tuning voltage of -30 V and 30 V, respectively. Amount of charge transfer between nitrogen molecules and graphene depends on the external electric field.
