研究実績の概要 |
Reagents for the synthesis of tiopronin-Au-mercapto cyclic aza (TPN-Au-MCA) monomer gold complexes and perform plating experiments were procured along with the necessary general lab equipment. Analytic equipment maintenance (NMR) was also performed in order to confirm the structures and some properties of new TPN-Au-MCA complexes synthesized. Next, TPN-Au-MCA compounds were evaluated for plating using electrochemical techniques and direct application in a standardized plating bath. In addition to the previously reported MTZ and AMT derivatives, a number of new MCA compounds were investigated. Compound structure characterization was performed by 1H and 13C spectroscopy. Electrochemical analysis revealed some structure-property correlations. Linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) of the anode and cathode curves suggested trends on MSA ring type and moiety that could be used to optimize electroless plating baths. In application of the TPN-Au-MCA monomers in the electroless bath, a trend was observed in morphology of the deposited gold film. First, in plating baths where TPN-Au tetramer and TPN-Au-MCA compounds where the MCA compound was a tetrazole derivative, no deposition occurred. From plating baths containing a TPN-Au-MCA compounds where the MCA compound was a triazole derivative, deposits of fine crystallites were observed in comparison to when the MCA compound was a thiadiazole derivative, where deposits were made up of larger crystallites resulting in a rougher surface.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the next fiscal year, we intend fortify the correlations found in the first year by increacing the number of each type of derivitive and further characterizing the deposits types that can be prepared according to the correlations. More detailed electrocemical analysis will also be performed Investigation into cell attachment, cell culture growth and cell culture detachment will begin. In paralell, other bath components will also be investigated. Missing NMR data will be taken.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the unexpected malfunction of our NMR equipment, the research plan was slightly delayed and use of funds was rearranged appropriately to most efficiently proceed.
In the next fiscal year, we plan to use the incurred amount for further improvement of the NMR equipment to prevent another malfunction.
