研究実績の概要 |
1- Comprehensive characterization study (chemical, mineralogical, leaching behavior etc.) of “MSWI fly ash” from four incineration plants in Japan. 2- Detailed characterization of at least ten fish bone species and their relevant hydroxyapatite. 3- Completing several sets of stabilization batch experiments under different analytical conditions between various fishbone species and fly ash material. 4- A considerable rate of heavy metals stabilization in fly ash was successfully achieved that amounted from 80 to 100 % for Pb and Zn. 5-The initial achievements were presented in an international conference in Istanbul, Turkey (October 2018) and received the best presentation award. 6-A full manuscript was submitted in April 2019 to the journal of ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering.

理由
Currently, several additional experiments have been designed and are underway to assess and improve the heavy metal stabilization technique in the incineration fly ash material. However, occasionally, due to some unforeseen circumstances such as instrumental troubles, the trend of experiments might be temporarily halted. Overall, we have not yet experienced serious issues from the technical, scientific, or budget viewpoints.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
1- Collection of untreated fly ash substances from two incinerators in Fukuoka City. 2- Collection of additional fish bone for processing and further improvement. 3-Modification of the surface of waste fish bones with a number of environmentally sound materials such as zeolite. 4- A number of supplemental batch experiments have been designed in order to improve the stabilization process. 5- Column experiments have also been designed in order to simulate the efficiency of heavy metal stabilization in fly ash after being disposed of in a landfill site. 6-Negotiating with some local companies to share our technology with emphasis on the possibility of industrial applications. 7-Two international conferences have been designated and two more articles will be submitted to the quality journals.
