In the last financial year I have published 4 papers related to my KAKENHI grant. At the forefront I published an article in the journal Quantum Science and Technology entitled "A many-body heat engine at criticality". This work answered the main question of my KAKENHI grant, showing that many-body effects at a quantum critical point can improve the performance of quantum heat engines. Related to this area of many-body quantum thermodynamics and control I also published a paper in Physical Review Letters on minimally destructive thermometry of a Fermi gas, and published a paper in Physical Review Research on the effects of many-body coherence on quantum speed limits. In Physical Review Research I published an article exploring interaction driven heat engines in the Thomas-Fermi regime.
