研究実績の概要 |
The preliminary results on the formation of iron oxide nanotubes by anodization were obtained. The properties of the iron oxide nanotubes for Cr(VI) adsorption was also investigated. Development of iron oxide-carbon composites were also conducted. The iron oxide-carbon composites were used for application such as Fe-air batteries as well as Cr(VI) adsorption.

理由
Iron oxide nanotubes were obtained by anodization method. Besides iron oxides, titanium oxide nanotubes formation and its properties for Cr(VI) adsorption was also conducted. Formation of iron oxide-cabon composites were also achieved which were tested for Fe-air batteries application.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
Improvisation of the adsorption properties for Cr(VI) will be carried out by investigating the optimized parameter involved in the anodization process and adsorption test. Controlled formation of iron oxide-carbon based composites which possess good potential for Cr(VI) adsorption and Fe-air batteries will be continually carried out.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
The optimization of the anodization process and the repair of the furnace's heat sensor had slightly delayed the nanostructure formation study and therefore, the cost for advanced characterization was not used. The incurring amount will be used to complete the investigation for iron oxide nanostructures development for heavy metal Cr(VI) adsorption. Formation of iron oxide-carbon composites will also be carried out and the research fund will be used to purchase the chemical precursors and required apparatus. The findings will be published in international journal publications and publication cost will be covered from this research funding.
