研究実績の概要 |
Between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020, my colleagues and I worked on seismo-acoustic-noise analysis and applied it to our previous geophysical experiments in the Himalayas, Antarctica and Greenland. The key research outcomes of the 2nd FY were 3 publications (Podolskiy et al., J. Geophys. Res., 2019; Minowa et al., Ann. Glaciol., 2019; Podolskiy, Geophys. Res. Lett., 2020). These studies were presented at 3 international and 3 national meetings, including 2 invited talks:
(1). The International Statistical Seismology (StatSei) workshop (Hakone, Japan, Aug 21, 2019) [invited talk]; (2 and 3). EGU General Assembly 2019 (Vienna, Austria, April 8, 2019) [1 invited talk and 1 oral presentation - on the same day]; (4).
Furthermore, as synergy with other projects, I participated in a month-long expedition to Greenland for collecting new data on seismo-acoustic noise in the cryosphere (June-August 2019 co-organized with 北海道大学低温科学研究所、ETH-Zurich, 北海道大学地震火山研究観測センター).

現在までの達成度 (区分)
1: 当初の計画以上に進展している
理由
Considering the following outcomes: i) the second FY has yielded 3 peer-reviewed publications (Podolskiy et al., 2019; Minowa et al., 2019; Podolskiy, 2020), ii) the research progress was presented in at least 6 oral presentations (2 were invited), iii) I participated in 1 month-long expedition to Greenland, which was strongly related to the topic of the project, I believe the second FY of the project was rather successful.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In May 2020, I was going to attend European Geoscience Union 2020 meeting in Vienna and JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting 2020 in Makuhari for presenting my work (both presentations were scheduled as oral before the COVID19). I also considered to participate in several other major conferences (e.g., American Geophysical Union 2020 meeting), but indeed the global situation will define which ones eventually will be attended physically or remotely. Nevertheless, considering that no major field work has been scheduled for summer 2020, and that most planned work is focused on data processing, numerical analysis, and manuscript preparation, no significant delays are expected. Therefore, I hope to continue the project as originally envisioned.
