研究概要

グリセロリン脂質は細胞膜の主要成分であり、その種類は1500に達すると言われている。リン脂質多様性がいかに作られ、単なる隔壁を越えた、多様性の生物的意義は何か、を明らかにすることが本研究の目的である。膜生成に関与すると思われる10種類のアシル転位酵素を同定し、多様性生成機構を明らかにした。また、膜の脂質組成や生理活性脂質を網羅的に解析するリピドミクス技術も開発した。脂質膜の異常が細胞機能の変化や疾病にどの様に関連するかの基礎知見が集積した。半世紀以上の謎が解けはじめている。
