研究概要

間隙性貝形虫について,特に以下の7点を重点的な研究指標とする.
(1)爆発的種分化の実態を把握する.
(2)祖先的形質を多くもつ分類群「生きている化石」に対する考察を行う.
(3)「所属不明」,「類縁分類群なし」,「遺存的」分類群に対する系統学的評価を行う.
(4)「間隙性生物化」への形態進化の過程をとらえる.
(5)「間隙性生物化」への生態的特性をとらえる.
(6)日本周辺の間隙性貝形虫類相を明らかにし,分類学的多様性の概念を一新する.
(7)地理的に隔てられた地域の間隙性貝形虫類を比較し,形態的・遺伝的距離を考察する.
