研究概要

マカクザルとツパイを用いた実験により、老人斑に蓄積するアミロイドβ42とソマトスタチンとの関係、新生児の形態と行動に及ぼす母胎へのステロイド投与の影響、春機発動の脳内メカニズム、更年期以降の脳内エストロゲン受容体ERβの制御機構、脳内遺伝子発現の老化における性差、大脳皮質運動関連領野における可塑性関連分子の発達に関する新知見を得、霊長類の脳の発達加齢の特徴を明らかにした。
