本研究では, 進化ロボティクス・アプローチに基づいて知的人工物に搭載すべき人工脳を構築するための基盤技術を構築する.すなわち, 進化型人工神経回路網の理論を大きく飛躍させ, その実現へ向けたマイルストーンを発見するために,(1) 人工神経回路網の大規模構造進化のための方法論の構築, および,(2) 人工進化に十分な計算機資源を供給可能にするための進化ロボティクス用計算グリッドの広域化・大規模化を行った.
