研究概要

第二言語としての日英語間相互の韻律習得の問題を検証した。日本語話者の英語発話では、強勢の有無と母音の質の習得が上級者でも不完全である例が多かった。英語話者の日本語発話では、語アクセントとピッチおよびモーラ長に相関関係がみられる話者が多く、またフレーズ発話時にも語アクセントを用いるため、フレーズ全体でダウンステップ現象が起き、語の平板化現象が顕著な日本語話者のフレーズイントネーションとの違いが際立った。
