ベーテ仮説法に起源を持つ関数方程式であるT-systemおよびY-systemと団代数の関係を明らかにし、さらに団代数の定式化を用いて、20年の間未解決であったY-systemの周期性および付随するdilogarithm恒等式の証明を与えた。また、団代数に関するさまざまな定理および性質を明らかした。
