研究概要

VHFレーダーによる鉛直流観測を行い、乱層雲中の雨滴落下速度の精密測定に成功し、雲頂部・雲底部において興味深い鉛直流パターンを見いだした。乱層雲の雲頂高度などを静止衛星の赤外観測から継続的・広域的に把握する手法を開発した。降水システム内の鉛直流分布に影響を与える可能性のある独特な温度構造をインド洋域において見いだした。降水システムの鉛直流を再現する数値実験をおこなった。
