Together with some of his collaborators, he investigated how the property of a topological defect would be changed in non-local theory. As a concrete example, he considers a domain wall and is able to find explicit analytic solutions in some regime and/or perturbatively despite the complexity of non-linear infinite-order differential equations. From the stress-energy tensor, he estimates the energy density, and shows that nonlocal effects make the width of the domain wall thinner, and the energy per unit area smaller as compared to the local case. Together with some of his collaborators, under very reasonable assumptions, he derived quantum-gravitational corrections to the famous Bekenstein bound which limits the amount of energy/information that can be stored inside a certain radius.
