| 研究実績の概要 |
In 2022-23 Kaken members continued to conduct document collection, emphasizing Japanese documents as the world re-opened and covid restrictions were reduced. Declassified Japanese documents helped add a chapter on the Korean War to the edited volume being assembled for submission to Stanford University Press.
This year saw three major presentation events conducted by this kaken: 1) a sponsored panel in December, including two kaken members and a former Ambassador, at the Japanese International Security Conference at Kokugakuin Daigaku; 2) a joint public hybrid lecture by two kaken members in February at Nihon bunka kenkyujo in Kyoto; and 3) a sponsored panel, including three kaken members at an international conference on Cold War border conflicts, East and West, held in Udine, Italy.
This year's publications included two volumes co-edited by buntansha, numerous articles, and presentations at Harvard University, Columbia University and the Wilson Center for International Scholars in Washington, DC.

理由
Difficulties with research in Russia related to the Russian attack on Ukraine have made it necessary for Russian archival documents to be gathered from the major collections in the US.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
In 2023-24, as travel and depositories continue to reopen after the covid restrictions, Kaken members will complete document collection, emphasizing high-level materials. This year major international events are planned for Taiwan and Hokkaido. In September, Chengchi University will host a two-day workshop focused on Critical Junctures in Northeast Asia and Taiwan, including archival visits. The Winter Symposium at the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center in Sapporo will focus more broadly on international flows and interchanges around East Asia, while Kaken A papers during two dedicated panels will focus more specifically on critical junctures. International cooperation partners unable to travel during covid will attend. All Kaken members will be present to discuss further publication plans.
