研究実績の概要 |
Within the experimental campaign of the HiCARI project "High‐resolution Cluster Array at RIBF", seven experiments have been performed in FY20. Additional data has been taken for the commissioning and characterization of the array. All experiments were very successful, and the analysis is progressing. New software tools for analysis and simulation have been written and tested. Throughout FY21 to 23 we have held regular analysis meeting. Results have been presented at many international conferences in invited and contributed talks. Publications in annual reports and conference proceedings have appeared and first journal submissions are accepted. 4 PhD theses focusing on the results obtained within this project have been successfully defended. 4 papers are currently under review or accepted for publication. The physics cases have addressed several open questions regarding the structure and shape of exotic nuclei. As a highlight, we have performed excited state lifetime measurements in 110Zr, a nucleus located at the edge of current knowledge and found experimental indications for strong triaxial deformation which has implications for the stability of neutron-rich nuclei as well as the nucleo-synthesis and chemical evolution of the universe.
