研究実績の概要 |
During the last fiscal year we have continued to publish studies on how oscillations and spiking information is organized across the hippocampal circuit, as well as how external factors, such as stress, impact these dynamics. Completed manuscripts have addressed the role of CA2 output in shaping informational and temporal precision of memory reactivation, the role of CA3 is coordinating activity across hemispheres and multiple studies on the impact of acute and chronic stress on hippocampal activity. we have also completed a new analysis pipeline for the data collected with neuropixel recordings, established a novel deep learning approach for positional decoding from unsorted spiking data and piloting several new behavioral tasks.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
We will build on our progress we will continue data collection in behaving mice using the high-denisty neuropixel 2.0 recording approach. We will establish two novel behavioral paradigms which allow the examination of memory encoding, cons olidation, recall and generalization, one maze based and a second based on schema learning. Manipulations will be targeted to the CA3 and CA1 regions of the hippocampus, as well as the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). Engram cells will be optically IDed using our established protocols and the high density recording will allow assessment of their manipulation across multiple regions. Deep learning based approaches to behavior and physiological analyses will be employed.
