| 研究実績の概要 |
A conference was held at Kansai University from 14th-17th of February, 2020, with the title ‘Imperfectionist Aesthetics: Philosophy, Art, Culture’, which addressed the main themes of the project. Participants were professors from a variety of universities in Britain, Japan, and the USA. The potter, Hirakawa Tadashi, also gave a presentation. A few of those who originally intended to participate decided not to travel due to the outbreak of covid-19. However, the great majority of those scheduled to be there did attend. Apart from the presentations themselves, there was intense discussion between participants concerning both theoretical questions and the future progress of the project.

理由
The project is currently still on schedule. At present, participants are working on their own contributions and remaining in contact with one another. Another international conference is planned at Durham University in 2021. However, the details of this have not yet been released, as the project is waiting to see what travel is possible in light of the covid-19 pandemic. It may be necessary to modify the original plan with regard to the conference; it is too early to tell.

It may be necessary to modify the original plan with regard to the conference. There is a further meeting scheduled at Tsukuba University in 2022. Peter Cheyne is currently actively pursuing outlets for publishing the results of the project.

The holding of a second conference, including paying for travel. The acquisition of material. The possible commissioning of written contributions from artists and other professionals.
