研究実績の概要 |
1. The book proposal for a monograph on the kakenhi topic was completed in January 2023 and submitted to the publisher in March 2023. The proposal was peer-reviewed in April 2023. A contract to write the book was signed on 4 May 2023. 2. I completed 400 lines of translation of a 600-line Middle English poem on the research topic. The translation will be submitted to publishers in Japan, Korea, the UK, and Ireland. 3. I continued to revise and resubmit two articles on the kakenhi research topic. The articles will be published as peer-reviewed articles or as two chapters of the monograph book project above. 4. In October 2022 I participated in the Japan Writers Conference with a lecture related to the kakenhi research topic: ‘Rhetorical Figures of Repetition in English Poetry’.

理由
The principal investigator submitted the finished proposal for a monograph on the kakenhi topic to 3 international publishers in March 2023: Cambridge University Press, Routledge UK, and Palgrave Macmillan UK. The proposal was submitted slightly behind schedule. Nevertheless, the contract for the book was signed in early May 2023. The target date for manuscript completion is August 2024, approxmiately 4 months after the completion of the kakenhi project.
Because overseas research was not possible in summer 2022 due to continued COVID-19 restrictions in the UK and Europe, some library and museum research scheduled for summer 2022 will occur in summer 2023.
The translation project begun in October 2022 is progressing smoothly and should be completed by July 2023.

A draft of Chapter 3 will be presented as a conference paper in August 2023. By December 2023, 3 of the 6 book chapters should be complete. 2. The translation project should be complete by July 2023. The completed translation will be revised during August 2023 and submitted to publishers in October 2023. 3. By December 2023, a fourth poetry monograph related to the kakenhi research (containing translations of short poems) should have a publication contract. 4. The principal researcher will make presentations at 3 conferences in June, August, and October 2023. Paper proposals have been submitted and accepted.
