研究実績の概要 |
Planned research activities for year 3 (2021.4~2022.3) of the project included: (1) continue analysis of data; (2) presentation of results of research at national/international conferences; (3) feedback of results to participants; (4) development of resource to assist workplaces with cross-cultural communication issues. COVID-19 has meant many of the planned activities were unable to be completed. Therefore, a 1 year extension of the research period was successfully applied for. Research achievements include: (1) analysis of the data is continuing; (2) 2 panel sessions were organized by project members and 8 refereed presentations were given at international conferences. In addition, 1 book and 2 book chapters based on the results of the research were published; (3) as analysis of the data is continuing feedback of results has not yet been given to participants; (4) work has begun on the development of resource to assist workplaces with cross-cultural communication issues.

理由
The spread of COVID-19 meant that the collection of data was more limited than anticipated and project members were unable to attend some conferences that had been planned.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In 2022, now that travel restrictions have eased a little, there are plans for more data to be collected and analysed, and work will continue on the resource to assist workplaces with cross-cultural communication issues.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
The 2021 money that was unable to be used due to project members being unable to travel overseas to international conferences will be used in 2022 to purchase further recording/transcription equipment to assist with the analysis of the data. It will also be used for travel to conferences and/or for the collection of further data as the circumstances permit with relation to COVID-19.
