| 研究実績の概要 |
The Research Objective and Implementation Plan for 2019 was achieved to a great degree. The main objectives and implementation plans were to (1) begin by improving the content and design and (2) exploring the pedagogical effectiveness when implementing peer-model materials, (3) discovering effective procedures for collecting appropriate interactional data and (4) initiating the analyses of resulting data, and (5) beginning the dissemination of results for other practitioners and researchers. The materials developed and data collected in 2019 contributed to two presentations at academic conferences, JALT2019 and AAAL2020; unfortunately, the latter was cancelled due to COVID-19. Alternate ways to present results are currently being explored including publication in academic journals and/or a monologue in the field of interactional linguistics.

理由
The organization and analyses of 2019 data in preparation for the JALT2019 and AAAL2020 conferences, resulted in several insights including an increased understanding of (1) the degree to which participants are able to understand and describe the three modes of multimodal communication, (2) the effects on participants' multimodal awareness of model peer materials based on actual interactional data and live peer support during interactional tasks, and (3) how participants in the course were able to navigate understanding, particularly between those of varying cultural backgrounds. These findings will contribute to the redesign and implementation of peer-model materials in 2020.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
After considering insights from the 2019 data, a redesign of peer model materials and informed pedagogy will again be implemented for 2020 and data collected this year. The 2020 objectives and implementation plan follows the overall design of this 3-year study, including a closer examination of how improvements to role-model materials impact participants' development of multimodal understanding and analytical skills, and how multiple iterations of recursive practice contributes to this development. Depending on the COVID-19 situation, the project will continue as planned.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
The reason for the surplus of funding was due to a reduced amount spend on computer acquisitions, employing the use of currently-held machines. The surplus will be spend on research assistants' wages, as there is a greater need than was expected.
