研究実績の概要 |
In the extended fifth fiscal year of 2023 (FY2023), the researchers focused on publications of their research outcomes. Since the produced wordlist (eNAWL) has been published open access in March, other practical aspects, especially using the vocabulary learning software Eigomemo, were the target for publications. First, the effects of interleaved spaced repetition on academic vocabulary knowledge acquisition have been presented at the EuroCALL2023 conference in August, which will be published in a peer-reviewed international journal in computer assisted language learning (as of May 1, it is under the final round minor review). Second, the effects of gamified daily awards on digital vocabulary flashcard learning have been presented at the EuroCALL2023 conference in August as well as at the LET-FMT-SIG in November, which will be published in a peer-reviewed international journal in technology and language teaching (as of May 1, it accepted and forthcoming in the next issue). Third, an additional experimental analysis was presented at JALT Hokkaido Conference in February. As a result of the multi-year research project, the researchers successfully (1) investigated the effects of emotion on vocabulary learning theoretically and empirically, leading to the PI's next ongoing Kakenhi project, (2) collected and analyzed data multifacetedly, leading to the open access publication of eNAWL vocabulary list, and (3) implemented eNAWL on Eigomemo, an original spaced repetition software of Co-I's original invention, which learners and teachers can utilize for their educational purposes.
