The past year I have checked 101 letters sent by Stanislas Julien to several of his correspondents based in Europe, Russia, and China. The analysis of these letters has revealed the importance of several scholars in Stanislas Julien's academic network, particularly three of them: J.-B. Torrette, T. Benfey, and C.-B. Hase. The content of the letters shows that Stanislas Julien relied on these correspondents mainly to advertise his own publication and ask for Chinese books. The extensive correspondence with Theodor Benfey also provides a lot of details related to Stanislas Julien's life as a scholar, particularly his income, and the money he spent to publish his books. I have also acquired several letters from one of his disciple, Leon d'Hervey de Saint Denys, and from Julius Klaproth.
