研究実績の概要 |
This year we extended the calculation of thermo-optic noise in crystalline coatings to the case of the TEM02 and TEM20 optical modes. We also extend the calculation to include a complete model of the multilayer stack (in the previous calculation the multilayer stack was modeled as single layer with the average thermo-optical properties of the materials composing the multilayer). In parallel we produced several multilayer crystalline coatings deposited on 4 inches GaAs wafers by molecular beam epitaxy. Several optical properties of these multilayers were measured. In particular we measured their scattering as well as their spectral reflectometry and their point defects. As a first step toward their transfer on silica substrate we tested the optical contact between 4 inches GaAs wafers and silica discs.

The project was delayed a little bit due to the pandemic and the fact that access to laboratories has been restricted sometime.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
We intend to write a technical note describing the new calculation that we made about thermo-optic noise in crystalline coatings. In addition we are going to attempt the transfer of the four inches crystalline coatings from the their GaAs wafers to silica discs.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
As explained above, due to the pandemic, access restrictions to some laboratories has delayed the project a little bit. We plan to use the funds unused during previous fiscal year to acquire consumables like silica discs and GaAs wafers.
