| 研究実績の概要 |
Research in this year on the roles of NGOs and government in housing provision after recent urban disasters in the United States and Indonesia, was restricted to gathering information remotely, through participation in online conferences and desk review. Research on both cases has progressed in understanding the ongoing recovery situation in each site, additionally complicated by the coronavirus pandemic, and in the case of Houston also by a historic and devastating black-out last winter. With limitations on international travel, building strong research collaborations become and even stronger focus for this research, along with adding a stronger emphasis on the international comparison of similar themes with Japan's recovery 10 years after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.

理由
Due to the continued restriction from the novel coronavirus, research progress has been somewhat delayed. Instead of on-site field visits, research was limited to remote information gathering and desk review of relevant documents and data.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
As the coronavirus situation is still not resolved, research in this year will continue to be carried out remotely. The main focus of research activities this year is planned to be stakeholder interviews with key agencies and community leaders, which will be conducted online, or in collaboration with local partners.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Because of the limitation on international travel, some of the funding from this year will be carried over to next FY, and used for remotely organized local survey support, and to acquire relevant documents.
