研究実績の概要 |
Through this project, pilot research was completed on the mismatch of commons boundaries, users, and benefits. We investigated the underuse of three type of Japanese commons in order to understand the contemporary issues at stake and identify how commons can be re-vitalized.
In this final year, a workshop took place in coastal Miyagi for the fisheries case study with research including fisheries, seaweed, and oyster fishers in three communities, highlighting the challenges faced by locals.
Continued publications of research results and activities with commoners were also completed. Despite differences in commons, challenges amongst the cases were similar with useful lessons found amongst the cases, especially in regards to stakeholders' creative actions and solutions.
