Research achievements for FY2023 can be summarized as follows:
Peer-reviewed article (published):
1)‘Generic/Genetic Images: Constructing and Translating Race in “Circe” and its Drafts Manuscripts.’ In Joycean Japan 34, 21-35.
Conference presentation (accepted and forthcoming):
2)‘Writing and the Aftermath in John McGahern’s The Leavetaking’, to be presented at the annual IASIL conference (5-9 August 2024).
Overall, the progress of the project as a whole is in line with my expectations for research output: an approximate 24-36 month timeframe from initial data collection to final publication. The three peer-reviewed articles published during the grant period (FY2021 §5 no.1, no.2; FY2023 §5 no.1) are expected to be followed by three more project-related articles in the post-grant period.
