研究実績の概要 |
Examples of using syllable play and image scaffolded conversations with young learners using the cards created as part of this grant were shared at the CamTESOL conference in Cambodia in 2023.
At this time, the researcher met with teachers in several countries interested in the possibilities of this method with children from different language backgrounds. The syllable / image cards were distributed to some teachers then and more will be sent soon with the purpose of exploring the efficacy of this teaching method with learners from different language backgrounds. In an increasingly multicultural Japan, this is also valuable information to have for domestic schools.

理由
The situation has finally returned more or less to pre-pandemic norms. Delays are still an issue, but using syllable play and image scaffolded conversations with young learners is being explored currently, with an intention to publish further by the end of the year and into 2024.

New opportunities have arisen to test the teaching methods overseas as well as in Japan. That is currently being explored with an intention to publish further by the end of the year and into 2024.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
In 2022 as well, there were reduced travel expenses, and no personnel expenditure, or remuneration expenses due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation.The focus remained on creating and trialing materials for the project, aside from the conference in Cambodia. With better understanding thanks to the experience from 2022, funds in 2023 will go toward publication and presentation related expenses, and toward making the teaching methods and materials available publicly after the data is gathered and analyzed.
