研究実績の概要 |
During this year, research has continued on this project which includes data collection, analysis, publication and presentations. Additional data were collected to examine the effectiveness of intercultural education in classrooms in Japan (study abroad returnees). The analysis of this data not only examines students' ability to communicate across cultures but also the effectiveness of such assessments in the classroom. Currently two manuscripts are in preparation which focus on two assessment assessment types currently under explored in intercultural education. In addition, a manuscript is under review which focuses' on managers' experiences of facilitating study abroad during the current COVID-19 situation. This paper was also presented at a domestic conference in 2021 (listed below). Collaboration with Dr. Kris Ramonda (Kansai University) on similar aspects across our projects, resulted in a presentation at JALT2021. We are currently preparing a manuscript for publication. Lastly, a paper was published which focused on students' perceptions of their own intercultural education in an internationally peer-reviewed journal. This paper addresses currently under explored areas of intercultural education.
