研究実績の概要 |
The research project focuses on assessing the effects of health insurance copayment and related health policies on healthcare usage and health outcomes. This study first explored the change in health insurance copayment and health policies in Japan in the last few decades and then will investigate the impact of such change on the healthcare usage and health outcomes among individuals. The data of seven waves of Comprehensive Survey of Living Conditions were obtained to facilitate analyzing the health policy impact on healthcare utilization and health outcomes, and the heterogeneous effects of the policies on individuals with different socio-demographic characteristics such as education level, household structure and region.

理由
The systematic literature review was conducted and major studies from the health related journals were identified with the content related to the research questions. The data of seven waves of Comprehensive Survey of Living Conditions were obtained and the data consolidation is now in progress. The acquisition of the other required data is now in progress and is expected to be available in next month.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
An online survey for obtaining the information about an individual’s health literacy, health insurance status, healthcare usage, health outcomes and other demographic characteristics is now under preparation and will be conducted shortly. It is expected that the data preparation will be completed in next month and the data analysis will be proceeded in due course. The next step will be generating estimation results from the data. A draft of the research paper is now under preparation and is expected be completed in the next few months.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
It is planned to conduct an online survey for obtaining the information about an individual’s health literacy, health insurance status, healthcare usage, health outcomes and other demographic characteristics. The survey is now under preparation and will be conduced in June/July 2020. Also, the author is planned to present this study in international conference in later 2020.
