研究実績の概要 |
I conducted a first research trip for empirical data collection to Myanmar in FY2019, during which I conducted several expert interviews with policy makers, representatives of international organizations, non-governmental organizations and the business community. These initial findings have already been presented at international conferences and are currently being drafted into a research paper. The ongoing global pandemic, as well as the events in Myanmar in early 2021 make it very unlikely that I will be able to travel to the country again for another field trip, as originally planned. However, I concentrated my research in 2020 on the international energy governance level to complement the preliminary findings of my previous field research.

2: おおむね順調に進展している
理由
I am currently in the process of publishing 3 papers in international scientific journals, based on the research findings in FY 2019 and 2020. One paper is already under journal review, two more are in the final drafting stages, to be submitted in the second quarter of 2021. In addition, research findings will also be presented in at two international research conferences in FY 2021 (abstracts accepted).

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In the third FY I will resume publishing the research findings through international journal articles as well as research presentations. I will also investigate in more depth the role of national development agencies in the energy transition efforts of Myanmar and the wider Southeast Asian regions through quantitative data analysis (OECD-DAC etc.) and expert interviews.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
The Covid pandemic had prevented me from travelling for research and conference activities in FY2020. I am intending to use the funds in FY2021 instead to conduct research and publicize research findings.
