Goal Oriented Active Learner (GOAL) project extends Learning Analytics framework to include health logs from wearable and mobile devices. Synchronous logging of learner’s learning and physical activities that the GOAL project affords, shall generate a data poll that potentially opens further research opportunities at the intersection of Learning Analytics and Quantified Self research. There is an increasing need of actionable data in Society 5.0, across domains of business, health care and even in education. While many consider a learner centric analytics model in education, GOAL framework focused on supporting self-direction skills of students considering their health and learning activities together. I proposed the DAPER process model to conduct data driven self-directed activity. Based on that model we designed and developed GOAL system to synchronize-visualize-analyze multisource data regarding student’s learning and physical activities. The pilot study gave design feedback both for the intervention and the application. Fourteen participants joined in for the program and we had monthly interactions as a part of the pilot need and context analysis. Further the DAPER model and the application was introduced to university teachers in India during the Technology-enhanced and Evidence-based Education and Learning workshop. Some students of those teachers participated in the second round of pilot of the GOAL system. The project completed the need and context analysis phase and in is in the second cycle of development phase.
