研究実績の概要 |
1. The code was improved and is now parallelised and has a new module for star formation. 2. We presented this project at a conference in Chile and won the price for the best poster. 3. The core working group of this project has weekly videoconferences to monitor the progress of the project. 4. A Chilean student started to work on Arepo simulations (project 2) 5. The code that we want to publish has a name and logo: A-Sloth (Ancient Stars and Local Observables by Tracing Halos) 6. I invited Prof. Miho Ishigaki to discuss future applications of this code (project 7).

理由
Our project was impacted by two unforeseeable events: 1. The global Covid-19 pandemic prevents international travel. Therefore, the two students who should come to Tokyo to work on project 2 & 4 could not (yet) come to Tokyo. We started remote discussions via video call. 2. The student who should implement the AGN feedback (project 1) has left the field after graduation. However, this module is only optional and not crucial to the code.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
- We are planning online workshops for our community to get familiar with the software (instead of initially planned in-person meetings). - Instead of project 1 (see "delayed" above), I am working with a graduate student at the University of Heidelberg on an AI-based comparison of Milky Way satellite galaxies to our code prediction.

次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the travel budget was not yet spent as originally planned. We will resume the original research and fiscal plan as soon as the situation allows. Also we expect to shift discussions and workshops online.
