研究概要

「転移因子とRNAサイレンシング機構の間の'軍拡競争'が複雑な遺伝子発現制禦を可能にするゲノムの進化をもたらした」という仮説の検証をショウジョウバエを用いて行った。その結果、転移因子の抑制機構が体細胞では遺伝子の発現制御にも密接に関与していること、そして、生殖細胞では生殖幹細胞-体細胞相互作用や卵形成過程における軸形成に関与していることを示唆する結果を得た。
