研究概要

糖タンパク質のN結合型糖鎖がもつ糖鎖機能を糖鎖サイクルとして統合的に解析することにより、その生理的、病態的意義を明らかにする。我々はこれまで糖転移酵素の機能に着目してきたが、本研究はGlcNAcに関わる糖鎖サイクルに焦点を絞り、サイクルを形成する分子、1)単糖代謝、2)糖ヌクレオチド、3)糖ヌクレオチド輸送体、4)糖転移酵素、5)細胞膜受容体糖鎖、それぞれの機能を解明し、最終的にそれらを統合的に理解する。
