研究概要

気道過敏性は気管支喘息の基本的病態であり、研究代表者はこれまでに、喘息時に気管支平滑筋収縮性が著明に亢進し、これが気道過敏性に深く関与していることを明らかにしている。本研究では、この気管支平滑筋収縮性が増強されるメカニズムの解明を試み、気道におけるアレルギー反応の結果遊離されるインターロイキン-13(生理活性物質)が気管支平滑筋細胞に直接作用して収縮関連タンパク質(RhoA)発現レベルを上昇させ、過剰な収縮反応すなわち気道過敏性が惹起されることを明らかにした。
