研究概要

インスリン様増殖因子(IGF)は腫瘍の発生、増殖、生存に関わる多機能な増殖因子である。若年で腸管に多数のポリープが発生し高率に癌化する家族性大腸腺腫症(FAP)のモデルマウスに抗IGF-IおよびIGF-II中和抗体を投与したところ、いずれもポリープの発生が抑制された。また両抗体を同時に投与することにより相加的な効果が確認された。以上より腫瘍周囲の微小環境におけるIGF-IおよびIGF-IIはFAPのポリープの発生において重要な役割を果たしており、治療標的となりうることが示された。
