研究概要

ダイニンは、多種多様な細胞運動のエンジンとしてはたらく巨大モータータンパク質複合体である。しかし、このエンジン自身がどのような仕組みで動いているのかという根本的な問いについては、半世紀近い研究にもかかわらず、多くの未解決問題が残されているのが現状である。研究代表者は、本研究課題においてダイニン分子の結晶化を達成し、X線結晶構造解析法により5Å分解能での構造情報を得ることに成功し、この巨大な分子モーターの運動機構について、その仕組みの一端を明らかにした。
