三次元マントル対流モデルによるプルームモードとプレートモードの発生機構の解明

研究概要

インヤン格子を用いた有限体積法ベースの三次元球殻内マントル対流数値計算プログラムを開発し、粘性率の温度・圧力依存性の影響に対して安定した数値計算が可能になった。このプログラムを用いて計算を行った結果、次数1や2が卓越するマントル対流パターンが地球型惑星のマントル対流の基本構造であることを明らかにした。また、大陸リソスフェアの自発的な変形と移動を考慮したマントル対流モデルを構築し、超大陸サイクルを実現するシミュレーション結果が得られた。
