研究概要

マントル深部物質の粘性挙動解明を目的として、高温高圧変形実験と高温高圧応力解析の技術開発を行った。この技術に基づき調べた結果、カンラン石の低温レオロジーは正の活性化体積を持ち、沈み込むスラブの受ける粘性抵抗が上部マントルでは深さとともに増大することが示唆された。また、メージャライトの減圧分解反応は非平衡組成を持つざくろ石と単斜輝石の形成によって開始し、その後はざくろ石中の元素拡散によって進行するらしいことを示す予察的な結果を得た。
