| 研究実績の概要 |
The research about state-society relations in China consists of three major research focuses: the theoretical background, the role of the state and the role of the society. In the initial stage of the research, the study focused on the theoretical background of the topic. The result is an article titled State-society relations in China--theoretical and historical perspectives. It focused on theoretical analysis of different philosophical and sociological theories and on the historical development of state-society dynamics in China with some specific examples. The second article concentrated on the historical analysis of the poverty alleviation in China. The third article built on the research conducted in the second article and is titled Strengthening the role of the state in the state-society relations. This article analyzed the state-society relations from the perspective of the state on a particular case of targeted poverty alleviation program.

理由
The research progress is about half way through, currently I am researching the state-society relations from the perspective of elite politics with the focus on Xi Jinpings role in strengthening the state’s influence throughout the society. The article will focus on the analysis of recent policy proposals that enable the state’s penetration into almost all parts of society.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
The last part of the research will concentrate on the analysis of the society’s role in the state-society relation. Contemporary social issues will be scrutinized through the analysis of Chinese blogs, Chinese social media posts and commercialized media. Through the analysis, the research will try to assess political views on contemporary issues in the society and the potential for influencing decision-making. If the pandemic situation improves, I would like to conduct a part of the remaining research in China.
