研究実績の概要 |
A preliminary survey was held at Bangladesh. The process of getting the permission to conduct the survey was understood. It was found that out of the 34 camps in Cox's Bazar, only 5 are registered and are open to foreign delegates. It was also found that about 80% male and 95% female had jobs in the camps, of which 8-10% male were engaged in small business and 12% in daily labor. Around 3% of the women were engaged in handicrafts making. Currently various livelihood projects are being implemented by UNHCR, IOM, UNFPA and WFP. These projects mostly focus on activities like soap making, garment industries and handicrafts. Econometric courses were also taken to better assess the data. A paper titled- ' Religious beliefs, Contraception use and Family planning programs at Meghalaya, India.' was published at the Journal of Asian Rural Studies.
