研究実績の概要 |
This year I made some minor improvements in the device for culturing skin equivalent, improved skin equivalent culture protocol, which led to better barrier function, characterized by TEER and permeation test. I have leant how to operate HPLC, so now I can do it by myself. Also, I have learnt how to work with iPS cells and successfully differentiated them into sensory neurons, which was confirmed by immunofluorescence staining. Furthermore, I incorporated sensory neurons and vascular cells into pancreatic spheroids and confirmed formation of neuron network and immature vasculature inside spheroids.

理由
I see great progress in my research, for which I am grateful for my supervisor and lab members, they provide enormous support for me. I did not achieve all of the goals I wanted, but the reason for that was that I overestimated how much can be done in 1 year. There were a lot of small hiccups and research questions I did not envisioned when I was writing my plan. And this is also a great chance for me to learn as a scientist, so that I can be more realistic next time.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
I will continue my work according to my plan. This year I will incorporate neuron network into the structure of perfusable skin equivalent with vascular like tubes. I also want to improve the protocol I am using for fabrication of neurovascularised pancreatic spheroids, as I was able to fabricate neuron network inside spheroids, but vasculature was immature. And this year I will connect two tissues in one Organ on a chip system. I also want to test some medicines that are used for Diabetic Neuropathy and see their influence on my skin model.
