| 研究実績の概要 |
The results of the main analysis demonstrated strong growth in the area of fluency. Therefore, over the past year we focused specifically on analyzing data related to the group that practiced fluency writing. Fluency was measured using a simple ratio of words per 15 minutes. The results were then statistically analyzed revealing significant gains for the fluency group. Interviews with members of this group were analyzed and coded by the CI, which revealed themes related to strategies and perceptions of the task. All the data was presented at the annual SpainTESOL conference in Madrid, Spain as well as at Temple University Japan in Osaka. A paper reporting these results was published in the Journal of Policy Studies at Kwansei Gakuin University.

理由
All data has been collected and analyzed, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and job changes for the PI, it has been challenging to present the results at both domestic and international conferences. This year, we plan to share the results of the research at more international conferences.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
This year we plan to present the results of the research data at domestic and international conferences. We have already presented the data at the Temple University Colloquium in February of this year and plan to present at the International Association for Applied Linguistics in Malaysia in August.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to travel for conferences and workshops with other researchers. Also, equipment purchases were not as much as we anticipated. If we are able to, we plan to use the leftover amount for conference and travel expenses as well as software and/or computer equipment to expand the investigation to potentially include an analysis of lexical complexity.
