| 研究実績の概要 |
With the event of the Covid19 pandemic this year, research was dramatically stalled in regards to many areas of the research project. However, progress was made in setting up the server to house the Moodle LMS and work done on its set up, display and readiness to receive participants. Certain plugins were installed that will enable the platform to carry out specific tasks on the LMS. Investigators met on Zoom to discuss the Moodle platform and a mini workshop was carried out for familiarization. As a new branch of the project, the Moodle has its first course implemented for Ainu language learners that are trialing Te Ataarangi (the silent method) on Zoom as a way to learn the Ainu language. Just over 30 participants have been registered and have been viewing and revising uploaded videos of the classes and also carrying out revision quizzes set up by the investigators.

理由
This year with the event of the Covid19 pandemic, research was stalled somewhat in regards to many areas of the research project. Firstly, investigators needed to put time into other priorities in what became survival mode as all university classes moved online. Secondly, travel became impossible and initial plans of meeting and visiting Ainu collaborators and institutions were thwarted. Therefore, funding was only allocated to server and Moodle LMS set up which involved purchasing server space to suit requirements of the project and a domain name for the server. Also, the principal investigator took part in an Ainu language camp to investigate how Ainu language acquisition could be fostered on the LMS as well as make connections with potential content contributors.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
As the first year of the investigation was basically put on hold due to Covid19 pandemic, this next year will be addressing the research that could not be carried out during 2020. Specifically, as travel opportunities open up, more connections with Ainu language and culture stakeholders through direct contact will be carried out by visiting collaborators and relevant institutions. All investigators will meet for a workshop to become more familiar with Moodle and decide the content for the courses and future subjects. The new branch of research pertaining to using the LMS as a method of language of attainment for the Ainu Te Ataarangi Zoom group will be continued and progress monitored.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, travel was impossible and therefore funds allocated for travel and research trips were cancelled. It is hoped that travel and intended research trips will be possible this year.
