| 研究実績の概要 |
(1) interview with boat captains and crewmember. After I submitted the application for “Kiban-C grant” in October 2019, I continued examining
the life experiences of informants in the fishing industry in Honolulu, Hawaii, based on interviews. On the whole, the project is progressing at
a much higher pace than originally expected. The research has already created a solid basis by substantiating the connection between working in
international waters and relationships on the boat. These findings are documented and prepared for submitting at an international publisher.

理由
In the first and second years, I completed two tasks: (1) archival research and (2) interviews with informants related to the fishing industry.
In the second year, the whole research project advanced to the next level. Further investigation utilizing Zoom software and telephone
interviews were conducted. In the third year, I devoted my time to writing a paper to publish the results of interviews summarizing the data I had collected so far. On the whole, the project is progressing at a much higher pace than originally expected.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
Next research trip to Honolulu Harbor to perform more interviews with informants
in the fishing industry. These findings will be documented and prepared for submitting at an international publisher.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
Although COVID-19 has kept from conducting field research overseas, plans to actively go out to conduct a field work for next fiscal year.
